Another way to spend a weekend!

Was wondering if it might be possible to pull in a sound file, as I believe it works like that on some systems.....It couldn't be that easy could it?

trial run1.MP3

No I didn't really think so. Now if Andrew reads this he may remember giving some advice about hosting.....trouble was I couldn't remember where that was....mail... blog ..somewhere.

and lo and behold he is reading! - your link won't work for two reasons - 1. it needs to be hosted on a server somewhere - your link shows it is only hosted on your own machine at the moment. 2. Your link will need to be bound in html tags which I'll send you by email.

How do you solve this? You will need to get some free hosting somewhere - there is loads of it out there - just type in free hosting or free audio hosting etc and set up some server space. Once you have this, you can then link to it from your blog.

One of your other readers may be able to suggest a good free hosting for MP3 files?

Hope this helps.

A good free place to host audio is the internet archive:
It is a good place to find background podsafe music too.

Am signed up...but it would not recognise my file name...copied the style most carefully, I thought.Checked again for typos.Tried various options. Are the grey underscores relevant?

Hi Marlyn,
Once you've joined the archive you need to up load your MP3.
Log in and click the link to upload your own recordingon the front page. The next steps are a wee bit of a footer, but they do work. The identifier for your file must only have alphanumeric (A-Z, a-z, 0-9), period (.), or underscore (_) characters.
The identifier's first character must be alphanumeric.
, could that be the problem?
